I bought a spare one just incase when I installed mine. I've pulled the PCV hose off an older 335i and it cracked when I did so, but I guess my car isn't old enough yet. However, the angle that that PCV hose bends to connect to the OCC feels unnatural to the plastic hose since it's going the opposite direction, so I just kept the hose in case I get a hose leak in the future.
As far as emptying the BMS, I don't see it being that easy without fully dismounting it again, which isn't a huge issue. But we shall see.
