Yes I get laser detection around the iDrive screen AND outside the car in front of the "connected drive" wording, even with the idrive screen covered. Turned off laser on the V1...problem solved. With all the laser falses these days from Volvo, Mazda, Mercedes...etc. I wouldn't respond to it going off anyway. Best way to deal with this is an external system if you think you really need it. Not much laser near me.
Now that Waze is available in CarPlay that is a significant help!
