SMG pump failure replacements cost just as much for a manual conversion on the e46 M. It makes perfect sense to do the latter in the long run but to say owners want a manual because they’re 3rd pedal purist is just false. A buddy did the manual conversion and wishes he didn’t.

SMG is now a past technology but it was the one to have 20 yrs ago. I didn’t fall on the hype and stuck with manual transmission. Nowadays, DCT is leaps ahead and proven to be very competitive.
