My trunk lid doesn't open completely either (has a factory/dealer installed flow-through spoiler on it increasing mass) and the springs are already maxed out position wise.
Has anybody tried replacing the springs with new ones? Did it help? I'm suspecting that they have been worn out so that they cannot "carry" the increased weight anymore. (The car has though only 10 000 kms on it so this would be a bit strange...)
New factory springs or a stiffer pair of springs from somewhere else are the most obvious solutions to me. Perhaps mine are just flawed.
Will probably try to have them replaced through warranty in any case and report back...
