I expect one of the 991 or M2 will sit for extended periods. Only you can decide if that's ok or not.
The forums here are so full of p-car fans who will tell you otherwise, but really, those 2 cars will be pretty similar to you once you have both and drive them often. That's how it was for me anyway.
