I think, respectfully, you're over analysing from a road car point of view.

A 3" single rear pipe will flow 500bhp ok, the CATs etc are more restrictive than anything else, the cooler back end of a system has a much less restrictive effect than the hotter DP end as gases have cooled, contracted and slowed by then..

And besides who drives round at WOT everywhere? Give me a great sounding car anyday over a few hp, even if that was an issue..
