I bought a 2017 C7 new and had it for 3 years. I added an exhaust/x-pipe before swapping for a used F82 M4. I'd say the C7 was more fun of a car to drive generally (sound, power - atleast stock, cockpit feel, open-air feeling, etc), but agree the build quality isn't great. With only 16k miles, it was starting to show wear - interior (speaker rattles, smudges, leather fading) and mechanically - clunking of rear axle/clutch noises luckily all fixed under warranty before selling to the new owner.

For your situation, I think you'll definitely enjoy it for a year to hold you down as its a fun car once you add an exhaust as its too quiet stock for me personally.
