Yes. Just don't rush and make sure to protect the edges you are pressing on with something soft , like double tape or something else and all good.
I didn't really care allot about the old OEM M1 M2 buttons since these will never go back there
but even so they didn't got scratched. But pay attention to the trim edge that will remain there, that's all you need to protect really.
