I can tell how long it's been since I've driven a stick as a daily though... Coming to a stop and depressing the clutch from 1st gear always produces a lovely rattle under the car! Hopefully once I finish breaking in my skill as a driver with more than one leg that will go away...

I've driven manuals for a while now, but this one is different. Yesterday for the first time I noticed that when you slowly release the clutch on first gear and full stop, the engine will rev slightly to prevent stalling! So no need to do the old school gas/clutch dance.
But I'm still trying to achieve a smooth shift from first to second.
