With the valve opened, I would imagine it would sound similar to EQ + OE muffler (which is essentially a slightly resonated straight-through design with the valves opened).

Regardless, I think the consensuses is that any EQ-style exhaust sounds better than the any non-EQ set-up so it's an improvement in by book. Your V2 sounds good, and tons better than anything else available on the market currently to purchase.
