I don't think it's an emissions problem.

Chevy can get a Z28 and Z06 to pass
Mercedes can get 3 versions of their C63 to pass
Porsche can do the GT3RS and ~300 units of the GT3RS 4.0

I don't see a good excuse for BMW. Its competitors do it. This is not some wonderful 5.8L NA V10 that revs to 9500rpm, it is clear BMW does not have what it takes to give us that, unfortunately. AMG can build an SLS... BMW gives us an i8.
This is a boosted version of the S55. The lack of weight will make MPG/emissions be the same as the regular M4.

I hope this thing has a solid 500hp, carbon doors, Ti exhaust, race seats and no nav crap. Should take 200lb out of the car!
