MOST of it is similar, but not identical. You'd be amazed at the differences. Comparing the printed Owner's Manuals, 284 pages for the '18 M3 but only 232 pages for the '16 M4. The oil specs are only different because bmw no longer recommends LL-01 oils, just LL-01FE and newer. But it's the same engine in all model years.

But I hear you, the owners manual for any year and any model should be available for download right from the bmw site.
