I remember the M1 having 277PS @ 6500rpm back in the days and an E30 M3 having 200PS @ 6750 rpm from a 4 potter. Both great cars/engines. But not good enough? Because no V8?
And I was spending 100k euros on a E90 M3(2008), trading in my N54 335i(60k euros when new)
That won't happen again.....never again, worst trade I did in my life

you still not grasping what i have been saying on multiple forum threads. its not a 8 cylinder VS 6 cylinder thing.
it never was!
it was the idea that M made a engine that was very different from the rest. put all the power specs aside. look E60 M5s. they were putting V10 engines in there M cars! that insane. Thats what made me want a BMW M car.
the new engine is going to be a solid engine and the M4 is going to be a ass kicking car. in the name of cost cutting and getting better MPG. they made us a engine that is to similar to 335i.
for me its the principal. nothing to do with how fast the car is.
