If you live in a state with good roads, like I do, passive is preferred by some of us. I had adaptive m in my E92 m3 and I drove with it on sport 99% of the time. In that car, sport was the fixed setting that made the car ride like a passive suspension. I personally prefer the feel of passive suspension cars over adaptive when given the choice. My F82 is passive and I love it. I would miss it if forced to take m adaptive unless the current m adaptive has a fixed setting like the E92 did. If I was back in Philly like you are, I would not dream of buying this car without m adaptive....it is absolutely needed in the northeast.
