I've had a civic M4 and now a M3CS. The CS is awesome but if I was going to build a car from the ground up (for say, the track), I'd absolutely go with a civic F80. If I wanted to just enjoy the car stock, I'd go ZCP (and code in CS damping but that's another discussion.) What's really important is that you find a car running the firmware that you want. Later model year firmware really smoothed out the driving experience across the range regardless of ZCP or not. If you want the wild '15s with the old firmware, those can be found as well.
I’ve had 2 competition cars that should be mechanically identical (‘17 and ‘20 F82 M4 ZCP DCT) and can confirm that the ‘20 has a smoother driving experience. The ‘17 felt very twitchy when I was driving aggressively.
