As you should have noted in my post, the $6000 difference is on the M3, last MSRP with destination was about $57,300 for a MY2011.75.

Every other BMW since MY2010 except this one have included more standard equipment for the price increase than this M3. Actually, the last 2 years trend has been to add more standard equipment while increasing the base MSRP and still ending up cheaper than the last model year -i.e., F30 and F10.

You do not have to believe it, just check it out.

The new car has

-standard nav ($2100)
-powered seats (standard until it was decontented in MY2011)
-heated seats ($500)
-hd radio (standard since MY2010)

None of which were standard on the e9x.

Plus, the m3 coupe was like 62k in 2013, so this is not a 6000 dollar price increase as you are insinuating.

The price increase is very small and the standard equipment is much more robust.

Based on the released euro mpg, there will be no ggt
I ran the numbers. Accounting for the Nav and heated seats standard, the difference is about $3k. Non - inflation adjusted.

Here's my thread. I was a little off. So add in the extra $1500 to get to $62k, subtract off the $500 heated seats and it's a $3 k increase. And that's not counting CF trim, CF roof.

It's not that far off
