Must be me, but I think this m3 is very fun to rev out, keeps punching all the way up to red line.
My x5m does not do the same, and I can't tell when the engine is at peak power so I will miss shift in manual mode a lot at wot.
if the replacement car has the word ferrari in it, I think the OP bought the wrong car to begin with.
