Today I'm driving an F30 430i loaner car, it's the first F30 I've driven. It has 1,400 miles on it, so it's a brand new car (no excuses about it being a beaten old loaner). I was surprised how light and non-linear the steering felt compared to my F80. The whole car is much less sporty than I thought it would be. It's a fine conveyance - competent, easy to drive, comfortable, but it's not exciting or very fun to drive.

In comparison, (without getting into a whole review) I'm blown away by my M3. I love it even more than I thought I would.

Congrats on your M3.
