Ruined as in lookswise? They didn't ruin the engine, handling, or gearbox with the newest gen, which still lags behind M dct but not like it did in W204.
Track performance of the new gen C63 is substantially better than W204.
You'd bounce from F82 to W204 due to engine obsession, that's it.
As far as dynamics and track-ability, a well-modded W204 is off the pace of an E9X with mild track prep.
