my advice

.. get a beater car for under 5-6k to take to work. slap some liability insurance on it. fill it up with 87 and call it a day. this would also let you get something more exotic to use on nice days and keep the miles down for depreciation.

thats what i do. $6k civic i take to work (80 mile round trip). 458 for fun/weekends. f80 for everything in between, sometimes work, and for the manual itch. Hard to find any exotic with a manual these days.

you could also splurge a bit on the beater and get like a civic si or golf gti. cheap doesn't mean boring.
