Well you have to put things into context don't you.
Is a 430hp car as fast as a 500/560hp car at the top end? No.
Will a 430hp RWD car with lots of torque lose traction if you mash the loud pedal? Yes.
Can you spend money on aftermarket expensive adjustable suspensions? Yes.
Does the front end ride a little high for that lowered look people love? Yes. (hence the popularity of lowered springs)
None of those things mark the M3/4 out as bad or disappointing car.
