Yup, I was definitely bummed out, but in trying to look at the bright side, was glad that it happened to my leased M3 vs my GT-R that I own. At least I was able to just return the car to BMW and not get stuck with a car with greatly diminished value. That's when I thought "I need to warn people looking for a used M3 to avoid this car."
Although I will say, it was impeccably repaired.

For real, you're definitely lucky that you leased it. I was side-swiped by a truck on a leased 135i.
After it came out the shop, every time I hit a bump or incline and the suspension rebounded, you would hear this creaking sound, like a cricket getting gang-raped.
The quarter-panel just could not be aligned properly, even after multiple attempted repairs.
I also notice quarter-panel lip was cutting into the edge of the tire. What a nightmare that was but my saving grace is that it wasn't mines..
I return that vehicle to the BMW Financial and and never looked back.
