G20 with M Package looks pretty sweet, even I still like how the F80, F82, F83 looks.
Real M car? Okay, I would still prefer an M850I over an M3 even it is not a real M car.
DCT is more fun? Drive a modern ZF as on the F90 and you gonna change your mind.

Never tracked my M4 in 3 years.
How about things like Auto Hold, Laser Light, the new Instrument Cluster and Infotainment System. Those things are more informant to me on a daily than "be a real M car"
