Newer ones have been described to me as the cheap way to get a Ferrari engine, or half of one. But that sounds like all the maintenance expense and none of the fun or prestige. I really want to like the new ones, but just can’t get there. Too many other, better choices for the use case and price point.
This seems to be the consensus, kinda like Aston Martin and Jaguar: generally nice-looking products but the 'value' (yes, yes, we're talking about luxury cars, but still, it's not worth it vs its stiff competitors) just isn't there and neither is the cachet.

One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation...It's bullsh*t. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal...Now you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you buddy?
