true. it could be used like a beater, just like I used my 335i. But the depreciation will add up over time. making the guy who bought a cheap daily win out in the long run.
And then what do I want to do if I want to sell the f80? I can't sell private party and wait for another daily driver with the right spec to pop up on autotrader. trading in to the dealer is pissing money away too . I'd have to DD my 458 80 miles a day which is out of the question.
Plus a lot of the metallic F80 colors are near impossible to match if repainting is needed. We get snow and hail here in the Midwest too. OP lives in cali so he probably doesn't have to worry about some of those
