I mentioned the new m4 could probably be up there with a 911 Turbo and was criticized for that in another thread. And now looking at Karrussel's experience at the Nord he was beating a 997 turbo.
In contrast, The E9x does not come near a 997 turbo.
I expect the e9X to be slower in all tests. As I understood, BMW expects the new M3/M4 to be just shy of the outgoing M3 GTS.

I didn't read that thread, but did he know the driver of the 997 turbo? Beating a faster car means nothing if both drivers aren't capable of using the cars to their potential. I've passed countless exotics including multiple MP4-12C's and 458 Italias at the track, but that doesn't mean the M3 is a faster car.

The statement was that the F8x pulled on it in a particular turn where power and torque were evident.
I have also tracked and you are right, the driver is the main factor. I lapped a Lamborghini and a mclaren in a cayman r. So go figure. But that day I drove a scuderia f430 and it was noticeably faster than the cayman although a lot harder to drive.
The F8X sounds to be very much faster than the e9x.
