If you want to keep oil out of your intercooler, charge pipe plumbing and to limit the amount of build up on your intake valves, that is primarily what's for.

Your stock system reciruclates that oil vapor back into the engine for emissions purposes. The OCC separates that blow by oil vaper so you keep your system clean. Over time that oil vapor can build up and you can lose power.

If that's not a concern, then it may not be worth it to you. Eventually that oil build it can potentially rob power but it's going to take a lot of mileage and you really won't notice your losing power since it will happen very slowly for 10's of thousands of miles.
