Agreed they do not require cores, but neither do the VTT's. All include the manifold as it's part of the design. I'm sure there will be a few that go here, but this will only be for extreme builds vs mainstream aftermarket. I suspect those that will go this direction will instead go with something like the Doc Race single kit, etc...
I definitely could be wrong, time will tell.
