You don't "fight" an M6 GC competitor (i.e., RS7) with an M3 of any form, speculated or not. That's not how market segments work.
Needless to say, the 3GT and 5GT look horrendous; i'd rather the wagons/estates...M wagons would be nice.
Regarding the M7, despite traditional M philosophy against large & heavy M cars, I think it'd be a pretty cool idea (& a competitive one) as their philosophy against large & heavy M-cars no longer stands anyway with the release of M-SAVs. They can do what they want as long as the bread & butter (M3, M5, etc.) aren't compromised in the process...wait
