They do "goodwill" repairs for major failures out of warranty, where they'll cover part of the cost depending on how far out of warranty you are.

Still heavily dependent on you meeting their service requirements and your relationship with the dealer. Eg you're more likely to get it if you bought the car from a dealer and serviced with them vs a privately purchased car they've never serviced.
