I just received the 18mm spacers this afternoon and tried one on with a 270M wheel up front tonight. With the spacer in there was plenty of room between the clips on the caliper and the inside of the wheel. I would post a picture but I couldn't get a shot where you can really tell how much space is there. I should have tried to measure, but I would guess it was at least 4-5mm.
My only concern about the fit is how much further out this pushes the wheel. The wheel went from being noticeably inside the top of the fender to noticeably outside the fender. I'm a bit concerned that the rears may need a spacers to not upset the track of the car, and also about spraying road debris all over the side of the car in the crap weather over the winter.
I am considering trying a smaller spacer. I'm wondering if 10 or 12mm would be enough to get the job done. That said, I'm not sure that 8mm is really going to make a huge difference even if I could make the 10mm work.
