What the hell does using up the F chassis model designations have anything to do with "dilution of the M" brand?

I can't wrap my head around what you're on about. These two things aren't related at all.

Do you really think they sat around in a meeting and said "We should really try to use up the rest of the F chassis codes before moving to G" and someone responded "Well I guess that means we're going to have to product a 2 series active tourer M car"

The chassis codes are dictated by what they produce, not the other way around.
