First, the next generation G42 2 Series Coupe *will* be RWD, and naturally, so will the future G87 M2 Coupe that’ll be based upon it. So there is no need for a 2 Series Coupe render based on the new FWD F40 1 Series. The real thing will have completely different proportions due to being built on the totally different CLAR platform, and because of this, it will also have its own distinct styling.
Second, there will be no M2 Gran Coupe. In fact, there will be no M vehicles built on FAAR at all. So, no 1M based on the F40 hatchback or F52 sedan, no M2 Gran Coupe based on the F44, and no X1 M nor X2 M based on the F48 and F39 respectively.
Third, there will be an M Performance M235i Gran Coupe to join the recently announced M135i and existing X2 M35i. Originally, an X1 M35i and M135i sedan were also rumored, but they are not coming this generation. It is still very possible that they come for the next generation of those two vehicles (which should arrive by 2022/2023).
