lighter, faster and better fuel economy is the future. The M4 delivered. It does not make it a better car or X% better, just did what the customers claimed they wanted.
Obviously the public (and not this forum) agree, "BMW’s new M4 Coupe and 3 Series sedans had a 47 percent sales increase from a year earlier on a brand-leading 14,835 sales."
In fact in my area I see more F ms than E ms these days.

Self delusion and justification? I guess all the purist porsche owners are going to love their new TT platforms? It's a matter of preference and I am glad I am able to experience the new F platform. With that said my preference is the E92. Most people that complained about previous new generation M3 did not own one.
