I don't like Tesla's shoddy build quality, but I think you have it backwards. To be clear, I've never owned a Tesla, hate Musk, and currently don't own any TSLA stock. However, improving build quality is a natural process for any automaker. The fact that Tesla builds saleable cars this soon is a testament to their tenacity. They are ahead of the curve in autonomous driving and EV drivetrain development. Neither of those things are particularly hard (they just require money and time), but they are a generation or two ahead of pretty much anyone else. It'll be easier for Tesla to up build quality than it would be for BMW to match Tesla's technology. |
Tesla is doing great but their build quality is not very good and as the competition starts heading towards them they're going to have to up their game to remain relevant.
However their powertrains and their current autonomous driving is way more advanced than the rest of the pack.
