Respectfully offer the opposite perspective. I have several roadways nearby that are literally a non-stop torn up undulating piece of crap roadway under construction for .25-.5 mile.

I can go from sport to comfort on these roadways and feel a notable decrease in sharp impacts, "edges", and discomfort. Now it doesn't become a 5-series or 7-series, and it's still not smooth, but it makes a difference. And it's immediately noticeable in those conditions.
