No, I don´t think so ... the M-DCT tranny of the F8x is a little bit heavier than that of the E9x, the new 6 speed manual is 12kg lighter than that of E9x and if the difference at the F8x is 40kg compared to 20-25kg at the E9x so this meens that the M-DCT of the F10M5 = F8xM3/M4 ist 3-8kg heavier than the old tranny.

Seems to be the same thing like by the engines, the new S55 (205kg) is a little bit heavier than its precessor S65 (202kg) ... so only the manual tranny take its part in the weight saving efforts!
