Ultimate performance is important but for me the sound is a very close second. The sound of an engine can be enjoyed on any road at any speed unlike the performance the car offers. I loved having the windows down on my e90 M3 and hearing the engine reverberating off buildings as I raised the revs- the actual acceleration when you put your foot down is not as exciting if it is not accompanied by a great sound- it's the cars soul.
I will wait until the first time I hit 7600 rpm in this car before I judge it's sound and I hope I'm not disappointed.
