I would like some insight on this as well - where are the best alternate lift points when using a 4-point lift like the one pictured? I have access to a lift (hobby shop on the military base where I work) but quickly realized that the lift arms do not align with my F80 as posted above. The lift pictured is a very common 4-point lift design found in garages all over (except BMW dealers apparently). Makes me wonder if BMW designed the cars this way on purpose so they only fit on the lifts at the BMW dealers (using the 4 jack points on the sides of the car).

Right now I only use a muffler/exhaust system/oil change lift (the one where you drive on to it) which of course does not help if the wheels need to be removed for maintenance.
