Please don't get all upset with me. These are just thoughts and odds are I will still change the exhaust on my car in spite of what I just wrote....old habits and beliefs die hard.

Good post. However, modification of the exhaust does not only alter exterior acoustics but both interior and exterior. Of course when one really want to enjoy exhaust acoustics, it's tunnel, windows down and redline, pure bliss in an M3 with a good cat back exhaust. I get your point though, there is an element of ostentatiousness with an exhaust mod.
