The whole selling point of an M3 is its an everyday car you can take to the track and embarrass more purpose built expensive cars. Its not a fair argument to make to say "you can get a stripped out under-equipped track only G80" to keep the weight down. That's a slippery slope that erodes the very essence of a trackable daily.
Personally, I have zero interest in a manual M3 even if its lighter than the auto/DCT. BMW's 6 speed box has never been that great. Rubbery and never considered among the best manual boxes for good reason.
