I wanted to bump this thread. While I don't have a m3 / m4, I do have an X1 35i, and when I replaced the brakes, I "upgraded" to ceramics, and I'm having a similar issue. I'm beginning to think it's related to the ceramic pads.

The OEM metallic pads were very dusty and made a lot of noise. I've always had good luck with ceramic pads through the auto parts stores, until I got to BMW.

I was driving in the heavy rain yesterday, and this happened to me. I hit the brakes, and for a second nothing happened, until the grabbed.

It felt like it used to when driving a car with front drum brakes. It happened a couple of times, but only at highway speeds when it's pouring. At 40mph, they never get "watterlogged" so to speak.

I'm thinking I might just replace the front ceramics I put on. I used Wagner pads. I've always used the Autozone Cmax+, but they don't sell them for the X1.

What did you guys ever do about this?
