When updating istep, there are dependencies. It might require you to update other modules at the same time. You can ask kubax86, he offers services for coding and can probably let you know which EPS variant(CS, GTS, Base, etc...) is best for lighter steering. Do you have the BM3 login? If he says you need to update the DME, youll want to revert back to stock tune b4 updating. If any other modules need to be updated, any custom coding done will be defaulted back to stock. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2003713 I haven't used protool myself though. Me being a late 2014 build date, I absolutely need a istep flash first before anything, so I'm just gonna use ESYS for both since protool can't istep flash, only code. Here's a thread of someone updating a car to 2017-03 and the changes since. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=37 As for the GTS stuff, honestly... I'm due for both an istep and a GTS/CS flash this week anyways. I can just report to you the changes between the everything in terms of comfort steering and report back. |

Did an istep update from a 2014 to the newest one I had possible. Steering got a little lighter overall at comfort but I suspect those changes were already made by the time it was your 2017 updates.
Also tried CS and GTS steering coding. CS is lighter than GTS, but would I say it's lighter than stock? Honestly, no not really I don't feel it. I will say that driving around with CS steering feels a little more natural since there's no deadzone and the weightage feeling more consistent, rather than the light on-center and then much heavier as you turn. GTS has a little more weightage than CS, but I also feel more road vibrations through the wheel as well. |

Apparently people talk about trying the F87CS steering through protool, if you want to give that a quick look. This may be what you're looking for if the facts check out
