Polycarbonate (plastic) Windows?
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has tried fitting the polycarbonate window kit available online? I've searched around and not found anything. My car is 95% track and lives in a garage, so I'm not worried about the usual disadvantages of poly, but I am purely doing it so I don't have to wind my windows down on track days, which is a stupid rule. Obviously I'd lose adjustment etc but I don't care. More interested in fitment. https://www.plastics4performance.com...ate-window-kit |

Most of those exceptions are for factory cars with lexan.

How do you rate the fitment and quality? Did you retain movement? Plan B would be to fix them in place so they can't be wound down |

If you go carbon doors, or completely gut the door and simply slide up / down by hand then Lexan works. They’re best far down the weight savings race car conversion route. Mine are removable.

Originally I thought sliding plexi would be allowed to keep up but if that's not the case I'll fix them. I don't really care to move them TBH, I'm not doing it for weight and I still have AC installed. |

So be careful installing permanent ones before confirming your understanding.

There are plenty of converted road cars into race cars that run fixed, Caymans, 911s etc so I don't think it should be a problem but I'll report back. |
