Break-in during ED?

I know BMW recommends that you baby it for the first 1,200 miles or so. How can people do this with ED?

From the manual p156:

Quote:
During break-in, do not use the Launch Con‐
trol, refer to page 73.

Up to 1,200 miles/2,000 km
Drive at varying engine and road speeds, but
do not exceed 5,500 rpm and
106 mph/170 km/h.

Avoid full load or kickdown under all circum‐
stances.
So, do people really keep it under 5,500 rpm, not use Launch Control, not use WOT and stay under 106 mph during the first 1,200 miles during ED?

This seems very unlikely to me.

For ED, I doubt you will rack up 1200 miles but if you do, just plan it around a stop at a BMW dealer in Europe. Pretty straightforward.
