Sparta BBK kits

Did Sparta go out of business? Cant find them anywhere, their website is MIA and ECS tuning says no longer available. Looking for a BBK kit that is unfortunately UNDER $10,000 (AP Racing Radi-Cal I long for you, sigh).

Brembo GT or GTS may be possible. I like the idea of having front and rear rotors 380mm as I'm not "racing" on the track at all, just want really good brakes and love the look of a BBK kit on the F80's.

Rotor design is important, want "S" slots or something similar. Sparta made one similar to Brembo's classic S slot rotor but it wasn't my favorite.

Anyone?

Keep an eye out for a used kit.

Ahh a fellow BBK lover like me, not for track use but just tooling around town. I think your best bet is to get a nice used Brembo GT kit from a trusted forum member. I was going to buy a new set, but Brembo had a price increase last year (haven't checked in 12 months or so since then), and a front/rear GT kit was over $10k at a couple places I checked (didn't include custom caliper paint color either which was extra). Nice kits pop up pretty rarely on the forums, but for a decent used set look to spend at least $6k. It's a gamble too, lot of money for something sight unseen unless you live near the seller. I lucked out and found a barely used kit back in May from an incredibly honest seller. Was already painted in Mint Green as well which is my favorite color. I think it all came out awesome and is probably my #1 car mod ever. Worth every penny to me, good luck in finding a set of your own!

Sparta went out of business around Covid time. Do not buy a used kit because replacement rotors are not available and unfamiliar with their pad shapes so they too could be difficult to find.

I have the Essex/AP Racing CP9668/CP9449 setup and love it. Alcon offers a comparable brake kit. Both are available in gray hard anodized or ENP finishes.

Mint green looks surprisingly great on FDB. Mint green is an awesome individual color.

I went with a custom green on my PFC Z31 monobloc calipers on my MW ‘12 e92 M3. Wasn’t familiar with mint green at the time but would have considered it if I had known about it.

Thanks and nice! I prefer fun colors as opposed to the usual red/black/yellow, so the green looks good.

Hello, I understand that Sparta got discontinued. I currently have the set up on my f80. What brake pads can I use to do a service? I can’t get them from Sparta directly. I saw something about the Hawk HPS5.0?

Any thoughts or feedback will be appreciated, thanks

Yes, they went out of business a few years back

Front caliper Hawk Pad is HB581 and is available in several compounds.

Rear caliper Hawk Pad is HB453 and is available in several compounds.

Should be able to find the cross reference for PFC, Conalt, Pagid, etc. pad numbers.

If they used their own rotors then you have to have custom rotors made by Coleman Racing, Paragon, etc.

Thank you for that information. I was able to locate Hawk HB581 front pads. What should I do to double check to ensure they fit properly? Should I cross reference the dimensions of the original pad now vs the Hawk HB581?

Hawk show the pad shape so you should be able to measure the same dimensions on the pad profile and the actual pad.

Pad profiles included below:

FYI, upper left are available compounds and upper right is pad total thickness with backing plate included.
