Slightly different front and rear tire... thoughts?

I know you should run the same setup front and rear but for those of us with traction issues this doesn’t always work. Back in the day I knew plenty of guys that mixed the rears up for better traction.

I’m not trying to run multiple sets on my new wheels so I was thinking NT555RII (rear) and regular NT555 in the front. Is there enough similarity with this combo that running this as my primary set up should drive fine?

I mean from my experience unless your taking the car to the track I don’t see a big issue big enough to cause any problems if your just doing street racing etc you’ll be ok they might just wear down differently

It’s not uncommon. Realistically, it should be fine. But you may have a different handling characteristic that you’re not used to and have to be cautious of that. That’s all.

It’ll change the handling balance and breakaway characteristics. A lot of drag racers run different F and R tires on street and track. I’d go into a giant empty parking lot and find the balance of the car on different tires.

Thanks for the info. I’m going to play around with some tire combos to see what I like.

The AD09 has started to stand out to me since Randy Pobst ran them for One Lap of America on a Hellcat wide body in 2022 and the ZL1 1LE IN 2023 and won his class both years. The tires stood up to the whole trip, track days etc… on 700hp cars.
