How were you able to check it? Did you end up removing it or just looking from beneath mounted to the door?

This is not the same sound/issue.

This creaking sound actually comes from what SOUNDS to be the CF roof.....it sounds like cracking, creaking (from the pillars) and popping and only makes these sounds while driving.

It actuality, it's the gloss black plastic trim around the doors as it gets in contact with the upper hard rubber door seals. If they aren't properly lubricated with gummi or the like, they dry up and cause friction with those gloss black pieces and make those sounds.

Once you lube them up, they play much nicer and no more sounds
I actually figured out what my sound was and I feel dumb. Basically I would pull the hand break before turning the car off and letting the brakes lock by themselves. It resulted in the brakes creaking when I sat down since the handbreak was really tight.

DIY for door creaking

Many of us who have had the F8x for a year have accepted the "creaks" and "noises" as nuisances or pushed forward with door mods (insulation). This is a DIY for those sounds unrelated to the CR roof.

By serendipity, while cleaning my car, I thought I would use Aerospace 303 protectant on the inside portion of the door seal (see pic). The constant "creak" from my driver's side passenger door was a little more than annoying as it could be heard above the AS engine volume. All I did was apply a small amount (less than 2 cc) of the protectant to a microfiber towel and wiped the outer seal down (see red arrows, not the main seal)...lo and behold...no "creaking" since application, and it has been 2 weeks. The protectant is designed for rubber, vinyl, plastic, "finished leather", and carbon fiber.

This has likely been mentioned with the use of gummi phlege in the past...thought I would share my "two cents".

I apologize for the Dodge Viper in the background...darn kids...

Hello how are you?

Parky 1215

I send you a private message. My car is at the dealership for number 5 on your rattle diy page which is the rear console trim. Can you please tell me what the noise is like and if it was happening on bumps when driving. Please it's very important because the car is at the dealer and I want to make its coming from there. You can reply here or pm. My phone number was sent to you on pm too.

Thanks

Thank you so much

1. Basically find any piece of paper a bit thick , in my case I had a five gum package lying in my car.
2. Insert between Outer side of LED strip and the door trim and voila no more rattle there.
3. Use the same approach on the instrument cluster. Wedge some pieces in the lower and upper part where it makes contact w the dash trim.

This is not a final solution, merely a proof of concept where I try to quickly locate and fix. I think a very thin adhesive felt material could help but I don't want to take anything apart so I may wedge an invisible piece of paper.
I vaguely remember addressing this a while back. I believe I took a paper-thin piece of plastic, dipped it in gummi phledge, stuck it in where you have that piece of paper, and slid it forward and back. If that's the seam between the trim and leather, I'm pretty sure I had the some squeaks from there, and this did the trick. I didn't have to remove that trim piece (because it looks like a bitch to do).

Guys, I could locate and eliminate all my rattlings

Bevore I did some of the DIY from this (ecxellent!) post - but unfortunately some of the rattles (the ones, that appear seldom, quiet but annoying) didn't go away. So I downloaded this audio Test CD http://realtraps.com/test-cd.zip unpacked it on the phone (App Goodreader) and played them pretty loud by bluetooth streaming (see pic below). At about 100hz and 180hz I got exactly the horrible rattlings and could locate and fix them verry easy (with fleet tape and Gummi Pflege).
Hope this helps some of you

When you say paper-thin piece of plastic what do you mean? I am literally trying to see what I have around the house that can fit into that tiny gap for me to apply the gummy pledge.

Would it be bad to just run the gummi pledge over the LED strip as well in order to just coat the entire thing? I have insane rattle on both driver and passenger side door panels.

You know those little plastic strips that you put in the collar tips of dressed shirts? I think I used something like that. The one that comes to a dull point at a tip. I forget what they're called... collar stays or something.

FAM3 This ^ Or any other plasticized business card, also make sure you use painters tape below the LED strip as depending how much product you put, it may drop down! It helped a bit and will dry out after few months.

Remember you have twin door seals on every door (1 on the door & 1 on the frame).

Got it fixed at dealer. It could be seats or door rubber which needs to be re aligned
