Do I have Active Sound?
For the life of me I can not detect the amplified induction noises. Is it possible this is not a feature in my September 2017 built F82? Or is it possible I'm going deaf?

The newer cars apparently have a modified version if I recall. I bought that app (BimmerLink) and the OBD adapter to turn it on or off and that's how you can tell. But it is not drastic on my April 2016 build. I ended up just keeping it on.

Oooooh its there. Go to video on how to deactivate active sound and you will tell the difference immediately. I love it with out the active sound. Have no clue why BMW would put this feature in the M cars.

I didn't notice active sound until I turned it off, and I'm glad now that I did!

Unplugging it was the only way to "turn it off" IMO. I tried to code it off and i felt that only turned it down rather then off.
Off = perfection. |

My M4 is an April 2016 build.
I didn't think Active Sound was that much until I deactivated it with Coding. Some of the pumped sounds are pretty loud in the low frequencies and create great pressure on the ears. You can feel it pretty clearly after a 2+ hours of driving. All this goes away after coding Active sound off. Also, your sound system will sound much better. |

Your sound system on your car is pretty integrated in with ASD. This normally isn't a problem but you will realize fast after turning off ASD that when you turn your volume up, it also effects the ASD. Honestly you would never notice ASD until you have turned it off. In long drives and on freeways, it becomes bothersome because of the excessive noise it gives you.
