Had my HRE p101's refinished by HRE :)

As most of you know I have had my 20" HRE p101s on my last 3 M4s. IMO they are the best looking wheels on the market. I would try to switch things up but I could never really let my HRE's go! when I first got the wheels I had them done in Satin finish. They looked awesome but there was something that kinda of bugged me about the finish. All the trim pieces on the Ms I have had are gloss black. The satin finish as you know is more of a matte finish and this contrast always bugged me a little.

I decided to reach out to the awesome guys at HRE and start the process of refinishing the wheels. I tried to look up some info on the forums but really couldn't find anything so hopefully those of you with HRE's who are looking for info like I was this will help you.

1 piece Monoblock (20" p101)

COST: 200$/Per wheel
-any knicks, rashes, etc.. will be addressed and fixed

LEAD TIME: Once HRE received my wheels I got them back in just over 3 weeks. I was told this time frame can vary depending on how busy they are.

I couldn't be happier with how the wheels turned out, they look BRAND NEW . Bought new tires as well. I personally think the GLOSS BLACK finish really travels well with the overall look of my car. Again all the trim pieces are gloss black so now the wheels really go well. The gloss black really pops on the Santorini color also which I like .

If anyone is interested in getting their HRE's redone to any other finish or if you have some sort of damage on your wheels and you want to have that addressed, I highly recommend you contact HRE and dial it in. HRE is very active on the forums so you can also PM them at HRE_Wheels

I actually dont have any connections, I just sent them in, thats how long it took me to get them back. Maybe with other colors or rims with damage it could take longer? Not sure just posting about my experience

lol, not for me. I use to attend all of the bimmerfest and have my cars in various booths but the past few years I have skipped it. just to far of a drive and too long of a day for me. Rather just check out the forum post and sleep in

I avoid having aftermarket shops mess with factory wheel finishes (i.e. BBS doesn't offer them in gloss black). You did it right by having HRE themselves do the work. Job done!

100% agree, always best to keep with the manufacture if you can. Def wouldn't have gone any other way then right back to HRE, they are alway super easy to deal with and give an amazing product/service.

agree, I was staring at them today in the sun when I was putting out on the 18th hole ( I can see it parked from the green ) and they def pop a lot more and am very happy I made the switch!

I completely agree with your reasoning for refinishing and can attest to the results. I've had my HREs refinished by HRE specifically to switch from matte black to gloss black and like you, I couldn't have been happier with the results. It's actually not that subtle of a change.

agree, not a huge change but enough so to make a difference and ties nicely into the gloss black M performance pieces and window trim

Love the wheels and set up. The guys at HRE are great to deal with and you did it right by having them refinishing the wheels.
Curious if you were running suspension and what are the specs on the tires?

thank you! yea they rock.

tires are 265/30/20 and 295/30/20
suspension is HnR sport springs
